Greetings, Reader Friends! This is David Telbat. Thanks for joining us for my challenge, “Survive and Thrive in the Gobi of Mongolia.” The End Times Mongolian Chronicle of survival you’ve been waiting for is now available! Called to Gobi is more than just an adventure. It’s a call upon our lives in these last days to survive and thrive for God wherever we are. As you join Andrew Foworthy, will you survive the wilderness?
Crash and Survive
In Called to Gobi, Andrew Foworthy leaves the US and finances his own trip to Mongolia where he feels called to share Christ. But when his plane crashes in the Gobi Altay Mountains (Western Mongolia), how could he possibly become a missionary when survival now seems his primary concern?
Andrew teaches us an important lesson. As tempted as he is to focus on his personal needs to stay alive, he instead anticipates and prays for the opportunity to share the gospel with the unreached peoples of Mongolia. When he places the purpose of the gospel as his principal motivation, only then does he see God’s guiding hand weaving his survival into his ministry to the Kazakh and Mongolian herders.
Survive and Thrive
Could you survive the mountainous or desert regions of Mongolia? Called To Gobi is a call to all of us to look beyond our lives toward the bigger picture—of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection, for other people. Instead of seeing our existence separate from God’s ministry to others, I wonder what would happen if we saw our existence dependent upon God’s work to reach others, one day at a time.
Andrew Foworthy is the ultimate missionary—sacrificial and caring. But he’s only that way because Christ has imparted the divine into his heart by the Holy Spirit. Each one of us, as imperfect as we are, will find God’s hand tending to our daily survival as we shift our sold-out Christian focus to intentional interactions—at work, at home, at the store, at school, and with neighbors.
By God’s wisdom and strength, His people will not only survive to live the life He’s graced us to live, but we will thrive and shine through the very life He wants others around us to see.
I hope you enjoy Called To Gobi, now available at most retailers. May you fall in love with the Mongolian people and their land as much as I did while writing the book.
Hope to see you in the Gobi!
