Welcome Reader Friends and New Subscribers! This is David Telbat. Thank you for joining us today for Part V in my series “If Christianity were Illegal,” talking about your spiritual registration.
You’re running for your life. Why? Because you put off registering as a Christian. It’s now the law, and you didn’t register during the discipline-free time frame.
The sad part isn’t that you’re on the run. The sad part is that you put off registering because you doubted you’d withstand the interrogation. You’re pretty sure you’re saved, but you feel it’s now too late to prepare for such harsh persecution. Too late. If only you’d learned to be confident in living your faith before all this started!
Your Name is Already Written in a Book!
I speak to Christians all the time who don’t know for sure if they’re saved. If you don’t KNOW you’re saved, how will you ever withstand the testing of your faith? How will you stand like a rock on The ROCK, Jesus Christ? If you don’t know you’re saved, study I John 5:13 about the security and promise of Jesus Christ.
Once you accept Christ’s payment for your sins, you can rest assured that your name is written in The Lamb’s Book of Life (Revelation 20:12)—that you do have your spiritual registration, that you are registered in heaven! It’s your responsibility now to live like a citizen of heaven.
It’s so easy for most of us to float through these days. And some of us are comfortable with the fact that not all our friends know we’re Christians, and if they do know, they don’t apply any pressure.
But in the days to come, we won’t get away with such an attitude. We’ll have to make a decision. If we’re real, we’ll be tested. If we’re real, we’ll face an inquiry we never dreamed could be so harsh. We’ll be asked about our faith eventually, and when we don’t respond the way they want us to respond . . . ?
Stand for your King!
People all around us need to know about Christ right now. They need to know that God doesn’t offer Americans a “swell” life. He offers righteousness, salvation from sin, and eternal life. Sharing our faith today will make the impact tomorrow less abrasive.
The more active we are now, the more naturally we’ll stand unwavering before a firing squad—because in seconds, we’ll be standing before our King! This sounds pretty tough, right? That’s what this series is all about—preparing our hearts and minds for living apart from the world.
I hope you get your spiritual registration straightened out today. God can strengthen you for the days of hardship, but He wants you equipped now.
See you in the field!
