Welcome, Reading Friends and New Subscribers! This is Dee today. I’ve given D.I. Telbat the day off. (Ha, ha! Not really!) 😉 We have for you a quick novel update plus flash fiction by D.I. Telbat. First, we want to mention the recent Int’l Holocaust Remembrance Day. We remember. Let’s pray for the True Peace of Israel.
David is working hard on his second draft of DISTANT HARM. COIL fans will be pleased to hear his latest news. He said to share this with you:
D.I. Telbat says this Book Three in The COIL Legacy is “an explosive COIL book with characters from every COIL novel so far! All are on a mission together in North Korea.” David has done extensive research into what is happening in NK today, as far as we can know.
Distant Harm is on track—it’s completely written and David is now typing his second draft. You may know that he chooses to write all his first drafts by hand. He says it slows him down so he can think carefully about each line and scene. Then he edits the manuscript as he types up the second draft. He goes through it a third time before sending it to his editing team, which consists of four of us going through it before sending it back to him with final suggestions. After implementing the changes, he’ll send his final draft to me to prepare and format for you.
This whole process takes a bit of time, but it’s important to us that we present you with as perfect a read as possible. Be assured, we will get Distant Harm to you as soon as we can, though we can’t give you a date yet. It will be ready this spring for sure.
The STEADFAST Series
For STEADFAST Series fans—Books Five and Six are outlined, and as soon as David has Distant Harm out the door to his editing team, he’ll be writing these two novellas. You’ll be happy to hear that they will be longer than the previous novellas. Yea! (Though they will still be considered novellas with under 40,000 words each.) He plans to release both books about the same time so you can move quickly from one to the next. Visit our STEADFAST Series page here to read more about each novella.
That’s all I have this time for this quick novel update. Now, for a D.I. Telbat short story—
FLASH FICTION STORY
Today, we’re linking to a post that David wrote early in our blogging adventure. The story might be categorized as “Flash Fiction,” or “Microfiction,” as it’s very short. The post also includes a short author reflection on the topic of God’s will. Click this link and enjoy “Bible Smuggling Ingenuity here.”
NOTE-1: The VOM Movie Tortured for Christ about the true life story of Richard Wurmbrand, founder of Voice of the Martyrs will be playing in select theaters on March 5th. Watch a trailer and see about tickets here.
NOTE-2: Check out the new website of Vision Beyond Borders. Also check their trip calendar to see if a short-term mission trip might be calling you! Some of their trips are covert as they deliver Bibles through closed borders several times a year. On other trips, they minister to women caught in trafficking, or to orphans or refugees. You can become a Special Forces Christian in real life, just like the fictional COIL operatives! Check the VBB trip calendar here!
COMING UP: Join us next time for David’s post on prayer, “A Prayer Motto: Stay Low and Stay Close.” And for the following post, we’ll have a Valentine’s story by D.I. Telbat, “My Valentine’s Day Gift.”
