Hello Reader Friends! This letter to COIL is a fictional one from the Persecuted Church in Nigeria, but is representative of what really happens across the globe. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Nigeria. –David Telbat
To the American Organizations,
I live in Jos, Nigeria. I am a pastor in a house church there. I was wounded yesterday morning when I was visiting the village of Rastat. Dozens of Muslims carrying machetes attacked the Christians in the villages of Rastat, Dogo Nahawa, and Zot. These were not terrorists, but simple Fulani herdsmen who identify Christians, primarily women and children, and hack them to pieces, regardless of their ethnicity.
Five hundred lives were lost within two hours. The military security guard waited to respond until the killing was finished. I was able to save two children, but I was badly wounded by a machete.
Does the world know we are being attacked for our faith in Jesus? Please pray for us. We rejoice that Jesus has saved us from this ugly world. Pray that our suffering will reach the hearts of these lost souls. We struggle to remain every day.
Are the American Christians able to live boldly for their Savior? Do they suffer as we?
