Good Day, Reading Friends! This is David Telbat. Do you ever hear God’s still, small urging to move, but you still hesitate? I think we spend much of our Christian life learning to trust now, and then to act now. It’s time. Just move.
A Moment in Exodus
Remember in the Bible when Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, and they immediately started to whine and cry? There they were, against the Red Sea, the Egyptian army on the march, and the Israelites were ready to give up. They had witnessed God’s mighty plagues against His enemies, and yet Israel saw the Red Sea in their path, and they were ready to faint away.
Then God spoke in Exodus 14:15: “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.”
A Moment for Us
I feel like God tells me that sometimes: stop crying and go forward. When I know the path of obedience, why do I still cry out to Him? Why am I not trusting and obeying?
In the COIL Series, I enjoy writing about characters who obey clearly and quickly. No whining. No complaining. No excuses about praying more, or trying this or that. When it’s clear what must be done, just do it.
In the ministry, I often apply this to how I might confront situations or people. Avoided confrontations are usually avoided reconciliations. God wants me to move when the time to move is now.
Let’s be men and women of prayer and action. It’s time. Just move.
See you in the field,
David Telbat
