Welcome, Reading Friends! This is Dee today peeking from behind the screen to bring you David Telbat’s Feb 2019 novel update and publishing plans for the months ahead. So let’s go!
The COIL Legacy Collection
To start with, I’d like to tell you about our upcoming paperback getting close to being published! This has been big project for us but we are pleased to announce that as soon as the new cover is created mid-March by Streetlight Graphics, The COIL Legacy Collection will be out in paperback! And soon afterwards, we’ll have it in eBook format as well. If you have seen or read Distant Contact, and Distant Front, and Distant Harm, all three of them will now be in one single volume!
There’s a main reason why David wanted to create this single volume in paperback. He is involved in prison ministry, and when he wrote Distant Harm, he patterned some of the characters after a few strong believers that he has discipled inside the prison system. These men are excited that they could have a part in this endeavor and are looking forward to reading how they served alongside Titus Caspertein and other COIL characters. 😉 Having the book in paperback is the only way we are able to get novels to them, so we praise the Lord for the opportunity! And we pray it is a great encouragement to incarcerated believers. After prisoners read books, they pass them around or put them into the prison libraries, so we praise the Lord for the chance to get good reading material into prisons and/or jails!
Watch for our news for this release mid-March.
The RESOLUTION Novella Series
David has been busy writing The RESOLUTION Series, his newest novella series of four books. He’s working on the final drafts and will be sending them to me in the next month.
Here’s a note from David about what he has planned:
Hello everyone! The next novels you can expect from me are The Resolution Series—all four books at once! I’m finishing up the series right now. It fits into the COIL timeline between The COIL Legacy Series and the Last Dawn Trilogy, so it’ll fill in many unknowns about your beloved COIL friends.
I’m so thankful to see that several of you have left reviews on Amazon for Dawn of Affliction, so that encourages me to keep writing more of what you want!
Have a blessed spring, everyone! May our eyes be open to ways we can express Christ daily.
You can see a timeline of these books on the following chart. This series features Wes Trimble as the main character, but you’ll see many other COIL characters that you may have missed lately. We’ll have the new covers for RESOLUTION in the next few weeks.
Dawn of Oppression
David is excited to see that you have enjoyed Dawn of Affliction, Book One of Last Dawn Trilogy! He says Dawn of Oppression, Book Two, will develop the story even more, with fresh challenges, and bring all the characters together in Dawn of Subjection, Book Three. Dawn of Oppression will be published later 2019, followed by Dawn of Subjection around the beginning of 2020.
It’s important for David to take a break between big projects like these three full-length post-apocalyptic novels so he can bring freshness into the storyline. But he has written the outline for Dawn of Oppression and is about to begin writing it. And I assure you, you will NOT be disappointed! 😉 You can read a description of the novel on our Dawn of Oppression book page here.

New Website Home Coming in Next Months
And last, but not least, we are making plans to move our online home to another venue in a few months. We are pleased with what Draft 2 Digital offers with their Author Pages where we can display David’s novels. They have a few other great features that I’ll tell you about another time. Most importantly, I won’t need to learn how to do technical upkeep or security behind the scenes!
I have very much enjoyed being webmaster for our WordPress website, Telbat’s Tablet, for 8 years. But things are changing and becoming more complicated and technical so that I just can’t do it any longer. Besides, I feel my calling is working with David on his books—editing, formatting, and publishing. It will take us a few months to wind down so please continue to visit our website here and read the many short stories and author reflections linked here and in the sidebars.
As soon our tax paperwork is taken care of, I’ll be spending much time putting all of David’s books on his new Draft 2 Digital home. When we have some of his books added to the site, I’ll share the link so you can check it out! Maybe we’ll even have a party! ;D
We plan to continue blogging to keep you updated with David’s publishing plans, as well as sending an occasional new short story. Thanks for staying with us through the transition, but our weekly post should go out as normal since we’ll continue with MailChimp for our delivery system.
That’s it for this time, Reading Friend. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you serve Him in your own circles.
for the Telbat Team
With tax season upon us, you might enjoy this past humorous D.I. Telbat short story, “Tax Season and Bad Hair Days.” And with St. Patrick’s Day coming up soon, you might enjoy this past post, “St. Patrick and a New Meaning for GREEN.”
NOTE: As David mentioned above, we thank you for leaving reviews on David’s books on Amazon! Reviews so help readers know they can trust they’ll receive good value for their time and money. Reviews also greatly help an author’s ranking, visibility, and encouragement. We also very much appreciate our D.I. Telbat Beta Reader Team! You help make David’s books even better. God bless you for your kind service.
Prayer Prompt: Pray for the dire needs of the desperate people in Venezuela. Samaritan’s Purse (among others) is actively helping meet physical and spiritual needs of thousands of Venezuelans who have crossed into Colombia. SP has provided shelter, hygiene kits, food, and medicine to many. And some have found Jesus Christ even in their harsh circumstances.
Samaritan’s Purse President Franklin Graham: “Pray for the people of Venezuela and their government and leaders, that they will be able to resolve their differences without leading to civil war.” Read more in this article.
