Hi Reader Friends and New Subscribers! Thanks for joining us today as I (Dee) peek from behind the screen to say hi and share D.I. Telbat’s novel updates and news! Follow us on Twitter if you are there! @DITelbat (Thanks for the follow, Phyllis! :)) (I am managing David’s Twitter account for him.)
We’ve been receiving great reviews for Sea Scribe, David’s latest stand-alone novel. You can read the Amazon reviews here. Our thanks to Pamela B, Suzanne O, and JD Sparks for your early reviews! Those really helped David’s ranking. So glad you liked the book!
David is hard at work finishing Dark Vessel, COIL #4, to be published late this year. I’ll be creating a page and a preview of that book/story onsite soon. Be watching for the much-anticipated COIL #4, with the many twists and turns and surprises that you love! Corban Dowler and Luigi Putelli return, but that’s not all… 😉
UPDATE: God’s Colonel is NOW available in eBook format from most retailers! Click the God’s Colonel title link here for more info on this exciting End Times scenario!
Special Forces Christian Opportunities
As you know, David encourages us to get out there and use our gifts for the Lord—becoming “Special Forces Christians” in whatever the Lord gives us to do, as the characters in his novels do.
That may mean being a faithful prayer warrior for those who are smuggling Bibles into foreign lands, or supplying the Bibles for them to take through closed borders, or writing letters to those who have been imprisoned for their faith. Here are a couple of those kinds of opportunities from the Vision Beyond Borders newsletter:
–“Write Letters to Children [in refugee camps]- A letter is a simple thing that tells a child you care and are praying for them. It is our desire to be able to give each child a letter, post card, or bookmark with words of encouragement and Scripture from caring individuals. If you are interested in serving in this way please send your letters to the VBB address or contact us for more information.”
–“We are in need of travelers for Bible delivery trips in the Fall 2013. If you have been looking for an opportunity to go, we’d love to have you apply. See our “Trips” page on the website for a current schedule or give us a call for more details.”
— “We have a need for personal hygiene and health items for Burma and Syrian Refugees as well as for the children in many of the homes [orphanages] we work in.”
Visit the Vision Beyond Borders site for their address and contact info.
Google Reader Replacements
A few months ago we heard that Google was going to shut down their Google RSS Feed Reader. If you have been using Google Reader, it will be shut off on July 1st, so you will need to find an alternative quickly. Subscribe to Telbat’s Tablet by Email and you’ll never miss a story or post! But here’s a link to a list of “10 Google Reader Alternatives.” (The list is at the bottom of the post with links. Though I don’t know any of these RSS Readers, MaAnna of BlogAid recommends and uses Feedly.)
That’s all the news for this time. May the Lord bless you and keep you,
COMING UP: Join us on MONDAY for a short story called “Love like a Flame,” inspired by a favorite music artist, Brandon Heath. And next WEDNESDAY, David shares his Author Reflection with us called “Book Page Still Missing.”
