Welcome Readers and New Subscribers! David Telbat here. In this 5-part series, I’d like to share five ways to improve our lives by exhibiting a servant’s attitude for God. In my action novels, the Christian characters are defined by men and women with these qualities. Thank you for joining us for Part II of 5 Challenges that will Change your Life.
Falling Apart Versus Coming Together
In the physics world, entropy is a law of thermodynamics, the law that says all matter must increasingly become more disorderly.
That may be a physical fact, but spiritually, it doesn’t need to be so. In Part I of this Challenge Series, we discussed the idea of becoming a pen pal with someone we may not like. Let’s keep the spiritual rather than the physical in view, as we go to the next challenge…
Challenge Two – Visit with someone you’ve never visited.
We all have people in our lives that we see daily or weekly, but we’ve never talked to them—at the coffee shop or grocery store or gas station. Isn’t that enough commonality to spark up a conversation? How patient has God been, waiting for us to take advantage of what has been before us the whole time? 🙂
“Hello,” I could say, “my name is David. I always see you, but we’ve never met…”
We can be selfish with our time and our words. It’s so easy to pass people by because of our busy schedules. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Take a moment to visit with someone you would not have otherwise, had you not met the challenge. I get excited every time I put myself in God’s hands like this—and we’ll be blessed for being faithful!
A couple times a week, I try to exercise this challenge or attitude, with ministry intentions. Many people out there need friends, right? We never know how God might use a new friendship.
Try to heed this challenge even once a month, seeking God’s direction and conviction on who to approach—and it will change your life!
See you in the field!
