Welcome to Telbat’s Tablet! David Telbat here with a page from my Author Reflections, using the activities of the famous—Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Bill Gates—as examples to encourage us all to live up to our potential for God. (See announcement after post.)
It is no secret that I am an advocate for worldwide outreach. It’s a sort of calling for me, and part of that calling includes writing about it in my recent books, Dark Liaison, Dark Hearted, and Jaguar Dusk.
There are a lot of people who suffer in this fallen world, and we each need to do our part to reach those who need our help. James 1:27 is a simple and direct window into God’s will on this matter.
Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Bill Gates are examples of reaching out to their fellow man. They consistently use what God has given them to aid lives that many Americans prefer not to think about.
In Romans chapter 2, the Apostle Paul used the example of others in the world to encourage those in the Church to recognize the usefulness of Scripture—and obedience to God’s Word. The conscience bears witness to what we know is right.
I don’t know the spiritual condition of Pitt, Clooney, or Gates, but I have seen the impact of their deeds on this humble planet. Paul might say, if those who do not claim to live by God’s Word, do the things Christ desires, how much more should we who claim to live by the Bible, do what Christ desires?
We have many examples and opportunities to reach out to broken and ravaged lives. Our love should be expressed through action, as Christ did for us. And when we act, we can do so in His name. I know I can do more. Who’s your example?
See you in the field!
