Hello Reader Friends and New Subscribers! UPDATE! Arabian Variable is NOW AVAILABLE! Click the title link to find retailers! Today I’ll give you a sneak preview inside this new action/adventure novel…
Originally, Arabian Variable was called Free Arabia, when it was first written. Later, when the COIL Series was taking off, I planned to insert the novel into the COIL timeline, and it assumed the title Dark Arabia. But since there are no well-known COIL characters who make an appearance in the book—though there is a mention of COIL—I decided that it should remain a stand-alone novel, as it was originally written. That’s when I finalized the title you now know.
The novel’s main character–Carson Adams, chopper pilot–has a name resembling a relative of mine. I often embed names of friends or relatives into my stories, changed in some way. This is done for both reverence and memorial, and only for the heroes or heroines.
Though much of Arabian Variable was written a few years ago and placed in the lineup for publishing, its research, like all my other novels, is updated according to the most modern intel available, at the last moment before publication. I’m especially mindful of terrorist organizations, prison conditions, and religious restrictions in foreign countries to give you the most accurate information regarding potential, real-life victims.
This story was based in Saudi Arabia because I believe it’s important to highlight such a religiously oppressive country that is often only whispered about since the US considers the Saudis allies in various ways, for various reasons. SA is 100% Muslim, so they are sometimes viewed as a country that has actually ushered in peace through Islam, called Dar-es-Salaam.
But looking under the layer of sand, as Arabian Variable does, we realize there’s no real peace even in an all-Muslim country. Radicals that breed hatred, kill the non-radical, but they don’t like to broadcast this truth since the enemy, they say, is the “infidel,” not other Muslims. Bibles are illegal in Saudi Arabia. The country has been on religious oppression watch lists for many years.
This story was inspired by a friend of mine who, in years past, was an actual chopper pilot and a Christian inside Saudi Arabia.
It’s a good thing that Carson Adams is on the scene in Arabian Variable, because the enemy seems unbeatable! I hope you really enjoy this action adventure.
See you on the next page!
