About Christian Author D.I. Telbat
The teen paused in the darkness to allow his eyes to adjust. It was after midnight. No one else was moving in the house. Holding his breath, he pressed the power button of his Tandy 3000 computer. The fan seemed to hum louder than usual in the silent room. The screen glowed an ugly orange.
If he was caught now, he might be grounded from computer use for days. David set his fingers on the shadowy keys with excitement. He would surely get another chapter written this night!
David I. Telbat, Christian author, writes primarily action-adventure and suspense. (See a list of all of David’s books here.) His photo at 14 mos (below) proves his early passion for writing. David began writing his first novel at age 14 and hasn’t stopped since!
The young man clenched his fists and ground his teeth. The enclosure crowded his sanity, but not as much as the raging unrest of sin in his heart. It would take humility to repent and lead a new life, but David had known only pride. And in his pride, he resisted the upward call a little longer. He felt himself breaking, but he fought to hold on to the strife that had deceived him for so long.
Getting into trouble with the law as a young man became a turning point in David’s life. The Lord used that experience to draw David into a personal relationship with Him. Re-focusing his life for Christ, David now seeks to honor God with his life and writing.
As a man on a mission, David drummed his fingers on his desk. The completed novel before him shed light on actual evil regimes and the anti-Christian policies of dark forces. He waited for God to direct him, praying for guidance as to the direction of the potentially controversial views. Was it worth the hassle, the conflict, and possible backlash? Yes, it was worth it. The truth, especially the gospel, had to be shared, even in story form.
Because of his interest in the Persecuted Church and missions, many of David’s stories are about persecuted Christians–their hardships, their sacrifice, and their rescues.
David is involved in several ministries, which include mentoring young believers, organizing Bible conferences and Bible studies, teaching, and preaching. The rest of his time is focused on writing novels, short stories, blog posts, and prison ministry curricula. You can read more about his ministry at In Season Ministries.
Currently living in California, David has kept his home office in the Northwest where his assistant, Dee, lives and helps with his editing, research, and publishing needs.
