Dear Reading Friends and New Subscribers, this is David Telbat. Thanks for joining us for “3 Lessons from the Future,” another peek into my new futuristic Steadfast Series! [Be sure to see our news below the post.] There are three lessons I’ve embedded into the first three novellas. You may know this series is a fictional story of Survivalist Eric Radner after the supposed collapse of America. But sometimes we learn best through parables and examples. It’s the interaction and connection we have with people that is key, more than the exact circumstances. Think how you would respond to God if you were in Eric’s position.
Book One – Steadfast through Discomfort
Eric Radner has avoided many of the terrors happening in America. For five years, he’s lived alone in his mountain cabin. He learns to hunt, to fall trees, and to tell which plants are edible. He becomes comfortable as the rest of America is in turmoil.
But suddenly, Eric is challenged to step out of his comfort zone by someone in need. He’s faced with sharing his cabin, his food, and his peace with another person. Will Eric learn the important lesson of caring for people—that loving others sometimes costs us our comfort? But being together, sharing—that is certainly the point.
Book Two – Steadfast through Obstacles
As Eric gives up his life of peace on a mountain to care for people in the valley, he’s driven by God toward a new challenge: trusting God in the midst of uncertainty. His circumstances seem insurmountable. The obstacle before him is humanly impossible to cross.
We see Eric focus on the problems, which he can’t solve. But will his heart be open to focusing on the Mover rather than on what needs to be moved?
Book Three – Steadfast through Death
A situation arises—a deadly situation for Eric. Burning at the stake has returned in these Last Days. Are other lives worth dying for? Would we die so others might live—even others who are our enemies? See how God works in Steadfast Book Three.
Each of these scenarios is for us—not because we are facing an apocalyptic future necessarily. But because we as Christians in these Last Days must step out boldly, and make the sacrifices for God and for others, that the Son of God made for us. We must remain steadfast!
Thanks for joining me for “3 Lessons from the future.” I hope you’ll check out The Steadfast Series. It’ll be out very soon! And let me know if you would do what Eric does.
See you on the next page!
